Messaging

Coachbox has a built-in messaging system that allows coaches and athletes to communicate directly within the platform.

Accessing messages

Click the envelope icon in the top right navigation bar. You can either view recent messages in the popup, or click Show all to open the full messaging page.

Messaging inbox with folders and message detail

Folders

Messages are organized into five folders:

  • Inbox — Received messages
  • Sent — Messages you have sent
  • Archive — Messages you have archived for later reference
  • Trash — Deleted messages
  • Important — Flagged messages

Composing a new message

  1. Click New message in the messaging sidebar or the header popup
  2. Select one or more recipients in the Send to field
  3. Enter a Subject
  4. Write your message in the body field
  5. Click Send message

Compose new message dialog

Group messages

When you select multiple recipients, a Send group message checkbox appears. When checked, all recipients receive a single shared conversation instead of individual separate messages.

Text formatting

The message editor supports rich text formatting:

  • Bold, italic, strikethrough, and underline
  • Headings
  • Numbered and bulleted lists

Attachments

You can attach files by dragging them into the compose area or by clicking to browse. Supported file types include PDF, images (JPG, PNG, GIF), Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and GPX files. Maximum file size is 8 MB per file.

Managing messages

Moving messages

Use the Action dropdown to move messages between folders. You can move messages to Archive, Trash, or back to Inbox.

Flagging messages

Click the flag icon on a message to mark it as important. Flagged messages appear in the Important folder for quick access.

Bulk actions

Select multiple messages using the checkboxes, then use the Action dropdown to:

  • Mark as read or unread
  • Move to a folder
  • Flag or unflag
  • Delete (permanently, only from Trash)

Quick actions from the popup

In the messages popup, each row has a three-dot menu. Use it to move a message to another folder, mark it as read or unread, or move it to the trash, without opening the full messaging page first.

Good to know

  • Unread messages are highlighted with a blue background in the message list.
  • The envelope icon in the navigation bar shows a badge with the number of unread messages.
  • Messages are loaded in batches of 20 as you scroll down.
