Lactate testing in Coachbox
The lactate testing module lets you record your athlete's step test, analyse the lactate curve and turn the result into training zones and a report. Everything is kept per athlete, so you can follow progression across seasons.
What you do with the module
- Record a test: enter the steps (speed or power, duration, lactate and heart rate). You can do this manually, from a generated step test pattern, or by reading in a photo or pdf of your protocol sheet.
- Analyse the curve: Coachbox draws the lactate curve and calculates the aerobic and anaerobic threshold. You pick the method per threshold or set them manually.
- Derive training zones: your training zones follow automatically from the thresholds and can be applied to the athlete's profile.
- Compare tests: line up several tests of the same athlete to see progression in thresholds and curve.
- Share a report: build a lactate test report with your own explanation and feedback, and share it through a public link, as a pdf or by email to your athlete.
Starting a test
- Go to the Testing tab on your athlete
- Create a new test and choose the sport and protocol
- Enter the steps or read them in from a protocol sheet
- Open the Analysis tab to review the curve and thresholds
Good to know
- The module works with your own test data. There is no direct integration with external test software such as Inscyd, but you can scan a protocol sheet from another setup and have it read in.
- Each test keeps its own protocol, threshold methods and report, so you can always look back at how a result came about.
