Workouts

Adjusting workout fields (Field selection)

In the workout detail screen you can decide which fields are visible, such as Stress Score, TSS®, power, heart rate or cadence. Not every field is enabled by default: useful to know when your Coachbox Stress Score or TSS value is missing from the view.

The selection is stored per sport, so you can show different fields for cycling than for running or swimming.

Showing load metrics on the calendar

You can also surface Stress Score, TSS® and RPE straight on the workout cards in your calendar, without opening each workout. They are off by default, so existing calendars stay uncluttered.

  1. Open the calendar filter via the sliders icon in the top right.
  2. In the Options column, tick SS, TSS® or RPE.

The metric then appears on every workout card, with the Stress Score listed first. Hover a value to see which metric it is. Your choice is saved to your account.

Opening Field selection

  1. Open a workout from your calendar.
  2. Click the "..." menu at the bottom of the window (next to Cancel and Save). Hover over it and you will see the "More options" tooltip.
  3. Choose Field selection.

A window opens where you can choose, per sport, which fields are visible.

Metrics too

The same button exists in the detail screen of a metric (weight, sleep, morning pulse, ...). Open a metric, click the "..." menu at the bottom and choose Field selection to decide which metric fields you fill in. Metrics have a single list, without the split between planned and executed fields.

Planned versus executed fields

As a coach you see two columns:

  • Planned fields: fields shown when you schedule a workout (e.g. target duration, target power, planned TSS).
  • Executed fields: fields filled in once the workout is performed and the data comes in (e.g. average heart rate, actual power, recorded Stress Score).

As an athlete, only Executed fields are shown.

You can also drag fields to change the order in which they appear in the workout.

Available fields

Below is an overview of all fields you can toggle on or off. Whether a field is actually filled depends on your device and the sport.

Tip: The Coachbox Stress Score (Stress Score / Intensity) is our own interpretation and is used by the Fitness Trend chart. The TSS® and IF® fields are the TrainingPeaks industry standard. Coaches often pick one of the two systems to avoid duplicate numbers.

Good to know

  • The fields you toggle here apply only to your account. Athletes or fellow coaches each have their own selection.
  • Each sport has its own selection: switching between cycling, running and swimming shows the settings for that sport.
  • Not every field can be filled. Power requires a power meter, and TSS and Stress Score require configured heart rate or power zones.
